Maruti Suzuki reduces prices of select cars: Details here
If you're looking to buy a Maruti Suzuki car, now is the time! The biggest automaker of the country has decided to reduce the prices of select models with effect from September 25. The move comes as sale numbers continue to fall due to a decline in demand in the auto industry. Here are the cars which are getting the price cut.
Price cut of Rs. 5,000 on these cars
According to the announcement by Maruti Suzuki, the prices of 10 popular cars will be reduced by Rs. 5,000. This includes all variants of Alto 800, Alto K10, Swift Diesel, Celerio, Baleno Diesel, Ignis, Dzire Diesel, Tour S Diesel, Vitara Brezza and S-Cross. Notably, the reduction has been given on the ex-showroom price of the vehicles and will be applicable across the country.
All other models will have the same price
While the offer from Maruti Suzuki makes a great deal to bring a car home ahead of the festive season, you should note that the price cut is only valid on the aforementioned models. Other cars in the company's portfolio will not see any price change, including the petrol variants of Dzire, Baleno, and Swift.
Promotional offers will apply on new prices
Further, Maruti Suzuki has also confirmed that the price reduction will be given over and above regular promotional offers running on its entire range of vehicles. Now, this means, there is a good chance to bag a lucrative deal.
Clearly, Maruti wants to boost sales
The move from Maruti Suzuki comes just as auto sales continue to fall due to weak consumer demand and economic slowdown. Just a few weeks back, the company had to shut down production at two of its Haryana plants for days. Even other automakers have downsized their production for the same reason.
Production numbers for different Maruti Suzuki models
Last month, Maruti Suzuki produced mere 80,909 units of mini/compact cars like Alto, WagonR, Celerio, Ignis, Swift, Baleno, and Dzire - 41,915 units less than the previous year. Meanwhile, the production of utility vehicles like Vitara Brezza, Ertiga, and S-Cross was cut by approximately 34.85% to 15,099. Even Ciaz's production was trimmed from 6,149 units to 2,285 units in August.
