It looks much like Swift Dzire but with improved features
Depending on the model, the new Swift will cost somewhere between Rs. 4.75 lakh and Rs. 8 lakh. Its mileage is expected to be around 26 km/litre through diesel engine and 32 km/litre through a hybrid motor on the test. Its design is much similar to Dzire. It also has the auto gearbox in both petrol and diesel versions, like the 2017 DZire.
25% more cabin and boot space
It is based on Suzuki's new lightweight Heartect platform, which gives the car 25% more cabin and boot space, and better performance and fuel efficiency than the previous model. The front fascia has been remodeled completely with a large grille, new headlights and tail-lights, giving it a sporty look and feel.
New design, same old engine
The inside of the new Swift is completely different from the earlier versions. It boasts of a minimalistic dashboard, a new steering wheel, two-pod instrument cluster, and Maruti's SmartPlay infotainment system with the 7-inch touchscreen and connectivity options such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. However, this new installment has the same 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.3-litre diesel engines as the older models.
Three Swift models in 13 years
The third-generation Swift is already available in the international markets. Maruti Suzuki has rolled out only three Swift models in India since its launch 13 years ago - the first in 2005, the second version six years later in 2011.
