Kia Motors debuts in India with its feature rich Seltos
South Korean automaker Kia Motors has unveiled its highly anticipated first passenger vehicle, Seltos, in India. The subcompact SUV arrives in India with a bunch of new-age hi-tech features and three BS6 compliant engine options. In India, it is expected to be priced around Rs. 10-16 lakh. Kia Seltos: At a glance
The all new Kia Seltos comes with a "tiger nose" front grille, dual exhausts, auto headlights, rain sensing wipers and chrome finished alloy wheels. For lighting, the SUV houses LED headlamps along with the daytime running lights, LED taillamps, and the multi-layer turn indicators with 3D effect. Moreover, it will be available in eight monotone and five dual tone color options.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the Kia Seltos features a dual tone cabin with an electric sunroof along with a multifunctional steering wheel which offers a bunch of features including telephony, audio and cruise functions. Further, the SUV comes with a 10.25-inch infotainment system with Bose speakers, rear AC vents, air purifier, and automatic climate control.
Power and performance
The Kia Seltos will be offered in three BS6 compliant engine options: a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine, 1.5-liter naturally aspirated unit, and a 1.5-liter diesel mill. Further, the subcompact SUV offers three automatic transmission options including a continuously variable transmission (CVT), a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), and a 6-speed Automatic gearbox. Also, it has an option of 6-speed manual transmission as well.
Kia Seltos: On the road
The Kia Seltos offers ABS along with the EBD and traction control for better road handling. The cabin comes equipped with six airbags along with the connected car technology called UVO Connect. It offers a host of features including AI-based voice command, stolen vehicle tracking, auto collision notification, and an emergency button, among others.
And, what about pricing?
In India, the Kia Seltos is expected to priced around Rs. 10-16 lakh. However, the company hasn't made any official announcement about its pricing at the moment. It will be launched in July, this year. Lastly, it will go up against other mid-size SUVs in the country including Hyundai Creta, Maruti S-Cross, and Renault Duster.
