Second flash sale of JioPhone 2 on August 30
In case you've been itching to buy a JioPhone 2, but missed the flash sale on August 16, worry not, there's another one coming. Reliance Jio has announced that it'll hold a flash sale for JioPhone 2 again on August 30, starting 12 pm. However, there are some steps that need to be followed. Here are the details.
How to book a JioPhone 2 from Jio's website
To book a JioPhone 2, one has to first visit the Reliance Jio website. Once there, a user has to select the JioPhone 2, enter their pin code and proceed to checkout. Then, the user is required to provide personal details like name, email ID, mobile number etc. before being prompted to pay Rs. 2,999. One payment is completed, a confirmation will be sent.
Currently, Reliance Jio offers three prepaid plans for JioPhone users
Currently, Jio is offering three prepaid plans for all JioPhone and JioPhone 2 users. All plans are valid for 28 days and offer free voice calls, unlimited data connectivity, and access to Jio apps. High-speed data, however, is capped at 1GB, 14GB, and 42GB for the Rs. 49, Rs. 99, and Rs. 153 plans Jio currently offers.
JioPhone 2: At a glance
JioPhone 2 sports a 2.4-inch QVGA horizontal display with a 0.3MP VGA camera up front and a 2MP snapper on the back. The phone is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor, paired with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB). Notably, JioPhone 2 runs KaiOS which supports Google Assistant, YouTube, Facebook and WhatsApp (to a limited user base).
JioPhone 2: Connectivity options, battery and other features
The JioPhone 2 packs a 2,000mAh battery and supports 22 Indian languages. In terms of connectivity options, the phone supports dual SIM cards (Nano), 4G VoLTE, VoWi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, FM radio and can project content on any TV via JioMediaCable (sold separately).
JioPhone now supports several popular apps
It's worth noting that major apps have also made their debuts for the JioPhone and JioPhone 2. Currently, JioPhone 2 supports some popular, traditionally smartphone apps like YouTube, Facebook, Google Assistant, and Google Maps. All the aforementioned apps are available on Jio's app store. Additionally, WhatsApp is also supported, but is being rolled out in phases, so not all users will get it.
