Monsoon Hungama: Get JioPhone 2 for Rs. 501 on exchange
Among the slew of announcements made at Reliance Industries Limited's 41st AGM was the much-awaited feature phone, JioPhone 2. While the phone will go on retail sale from August 15 for Rs. 2,999, Jio had promised that existing feature phone users could exchange their old phones (of any brand) for the JioPhone 2 under its 'Monsoon Hungama' offer which starts today, at 5:01pm. The JioPhone 2 was launched to get Indians online
The JioPhone 2 was launched with the vision of offering affordable connectivity, improved technology, and additional features to India's 500 million odd feature phone users, most of whom don't enjoy internet connectivity. Notably, apart from offering better features, the budget JioPhone 2 will come with LTE support for high-speed connectivity, as well as YouTube, WhatsApp, and Facebook apps, the three most-popular apps in India.
What the JioPhone 2 offers under the hood
The JioPhone 2, which sports a QWERTY keypad and a dedicated voice command button, will have a 2.40-inch display. The dual-SIM phone will run on the indigenous KaiOS, and will come with a 2MP rear camera, a VGA front camera, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB internal storage, expandable to 128GB. It will support LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, and FM, and several apps.
Eligibility for the Monsoon Hungama exchange offer
However, the Monsoon Hungama offer does come with certain conditions. In terms of eligibility, extant JioPhones or any CDMA or operator-locked devices will not be accepted for exchange. Additionally, the model being exchanged has to be less than three-and-a-half-years old, in working condition, and without any damaged, missing, or burnt parts. Only the working handset, its battery, and charger are needed for exchange.
Reliance Jio is also offering 100% cashback on prepaid recharges
Under the Monsoon Hungama offer, Reliance Jio is also offering 100% cashback on prepaid plans of Rs. 398 and above. The cashback will come in the form of vouchers. Additionally, another 100% cashback offer is also being offered on select payment wallets.
