Jio Prime membership extended for 1 more year
Jio'>Reliance Jio has today announced that customers who took Prime subscription at Rs. 99/year will be able to avail its benefits for another year, free of cost. Regardless of the date of purchase, all Jio Prime subscriptions would expire tomorrow, March 31. The existing customers just need to go through an opt-in process for free subscription. Those joining the network after April 1 will have to pay Rs. 99.
Here's what sets Jio Prime subscription apart
Jio Prime was launched in February, last year. As per the plan, customers were given 1GB data per day, along with the access to the company's content apps. Initially, an opt-in service, Jio Prime was later automatically added to the recharge cost, making it almost mandatory. According to the company, it has 175 million users across the country and will provide 20-25% more value to Prime members.
Why did Reliance decide to treat Prime customers?
A statement from Reliance read, "The continued availability of the Jio Prime membership to new subscribers reiterates Jio's commitment to deliver a differentiated Digital Life experience to Indians, and will propel this into the world's largest loyalty programme."
