Jio replaces Rs. 2,020 annual plan with Rs. 2,121 pack
Reliance Jio has discontinued the Rs. 2,020 prepaid plan in India, replacing the annual pack with a Rs. 2,121 recharge option. The new long-term plan comes with standard benefits such as unlimited calling, 504GB of total data benefit, free access to Jio apps, and a service validity of 336 days. Notably, the Rs. 2,121 plan is now available for recharge on Jio.com.
Here's a look at the benefits of Rs. 2,121 plan
The Rs. 2,121 prepaid plan offers unlimited Jio-to-Jio voice calls, 1.5GB of high-speed daily data, and free SMSes (capped at 100 per day) for a total of 336 days. For calls to other networks (off-net calls), the plan provides a total of 12,000 minutes. Once this FUP limit is exhausted, you will have to add additional talk time for making calls to non-Jio numbers.
You also get complimentary access to Jio suite of apps
Like with other Jio prepaid plans, the new Rs. 2,121 pack also provides complimentary access to Jio suite of apps such as JioTV, JioSaavn, JioCloud, JioCinema, JioCall, and JioMoney.
Is the new plan better than the Rs. 2,020 pack?
The Rs. 2,121 looks like a well-balanced plan for those who want decent data benefit, unlimited calling, and long-term validity. However, in comparison to the now-discontinued Rs. 2,020 pack, the new plan doesn't look that good. It offers the same data and calling benefits as the Rs. 2,020 pack but at reduced validity (365 days on Rs. 2,020 pack), and costs Rs. 101 more.
Meanwhile, Rs. 329, Rs. 98 plans moved to 'Others' section
Reliance Jio has also moved its Rs. 329 and Rs. 98 prepaid plans from the 'Affordable packs' section to the 'Others' section. The Rs. 329 prepaid plan offers 6GB of total data, unlimited Jio-to-Jio, calls, 3,000 minutes for non-Jio calls, and 1,000 SMSes for 84 days. The pocket-friendly Rs. 98 plan offers 2GB of data, unlimited Jio-to-Jio calls, and 300 SMSes for 28 days.
