What's the story

Jio'>Reliance Jio has updated its Rs. 149 prepaid plan to include non-Jio calling minutes, making its affordable pack all the more attractive. As part of the revision, the plan now comes with 300 minutes of talk time for non-Jio calls. However, the company has also reduced its validity by 4 days. Notably, the plan is now available under the company's "All-in-One" prepaid packs category.

Key details

Here's a look at the benefits available with this plan

The Rs. 149 plan now offers unlimited Jio-to-Jio calls along with 300 minutes of non-Jio calls, 100 daily SMSes, and 1.5GB of high-speed data per day. However, in terms of validity, the plan will now last for 24 days. And in addition to the calling and data benefits, the plan will also offer a complimentary subscription of Jio apps.

Information

For 2GB daily data, Jio has a Rs. 222 pack

To recall, Jio has recently introduced new "All-in-One" prepaid plans including the Rs. 222 pack. The plan offers 2GB daily data, unlimited Jio-to-Jio calls, 100 daily SMSes, and 1,000 minutes of talk time for non-Jio calls. The validity of this pack is 28 days.

Mid-range packs

Jio also offers Rs. 333, Rs. 444 "All-in-One" packs

Like the Rs. 222 pack, the Rs. 333 and Rs. 444 packs provide 2GB of daily data, unlimited Jio-to-Jio calls, 100 SMSes per day, and 1,000 minutes of talk time for non-Jio calls. As for validity, the Rs. 333 plan will last for 56 days while the Rs. 444 pack has an 84-day validity period. Both plans also offer complimentary subscription to Jio apps.

Premium pack

The Rs. 555 pack offers 3,000 IUC minutes

If you're looking for a plan that offers more IUC minutes, the Rs. 555 plan should meet your requirements. The premium "All-in-One" pack offers 3,000 minutes for non-Jio calls along with 2GB data per day, unlimited Jio-to-Jio calls, and 100 daily SMSes. The validity of this recharge is of 84 days and you also get free access to Jio's suite of apps.

But, why has Jio introduced these packs?

For the uninitiated, Reliance Jio has recently started charging customers 6 paise per minute as Interconnect Usage Charge (IUC) for all outgoing voice calls made to non-Jio mobile numbers. The new voice charge was started from October 10 onwards. These new plans can be seen as a way to appease the subscribers disgruntled by the introduction of IUC charges.
