Reliance Jio renews Prime membership for existing customers for free
Reliance Jio has disrupted the Indian telecom sector by offering more data, unlimited calling, and a bunch of freebies at affordable tariffs. In the initial days, the telco had introduced Prime membership for its subscribers that offered free access to Jio Apps. And, now in the latest development, Jio has auto-renewed its annual Prime membership for all the existing subscribers for free. Here's how to avail it.
How to avail free Jio Prime Membership?
To check if your Prime membership has been renewed, go to the MyJio app, click on the hamburger menu on the top-left corner, and go to My Plans section. Under this tab, look for "Jio Prime Membership". If Jio has auto-renewed the membership, you should see a banner saying your request to avail free JioPrime membership for a year has been registered successfully.
Currently, Jio Prime membership is priced at Rs. 99
Notably, the auto-renewal of Jio Prime membership is valid for existing members only. In case you are a new subscriber and want Jio Prime membership, you will have to recharge your number with Rs. 99.
What are the benefits of Jio Prime membership?
The Jio Prime membership brings access to a suite of Jio apps like JioCinema, JioMusic, JioTV, etc. along with extra data and complimentary offers which are not available to standard users. Moreover, Prime subscribers get access to apps like Jio KBC Play, Platinum access to live shows, and 7-days catch up of live TV, among other benefits.
Reliance Jio is also working on a Super App
Separately, Reliance Jio is working on a 'Super App' that will serve as a one-stop solution for all consumer needs, providing over 100 services under one platform. This new platform will allow users to order goods and services and pay bills using in-app payment services. Moreover, it will be a hybrid ecosystem that will help users buy via online as well as offline channels.
