R-Day offer: Jio boosts data limit on 1GB, 1.5GB packs
Jio has announced free data for select plans as part of its Republic Day offer with effect from January 26. This comes right after Airtel increased data limits on some of its prepaid plans from 1GB a day to 1.4GB. Jio is now offering 500MB more on its 1GB and 1.5GB packs, which will now come with 1.5GB and 2GB caps respectively.
Here's what it means for Jio subscribers
"Jio will always offer more value to its customers, and offer Rs. 50 lower price than competition and 50 per cent more data on its plans," HT said quoting sources. "As part of R-Day offer, all existing 1GB daily packs enhanced to 1.5GB, and 1.5GB packs to 2GB." The validity of the Rs. 98 pack is also being doubled from 14 days to 28.
Airtel earlier boosted data limits on three prepaid plans
This comes a day after Airtel upped the data limit on its Rs. 199, 448, and 509 plans from 1GB daily to 1.4GB. The plans include unlimited calling and 100 free SMS per day for 28 days, 82 days and 90 days respectively. Jio had introduced the Rs. 199 and 299 plans on New Year, with 1GB and 1.5GB daily data limit.
