Jawa, Jawa 42 motorcycles' deliveries to begin soon
Jawa Motorcycles is all set to commence the deliveries of Jawa and Jawa 42 dual-channel ABS variants in India. Anupam Thareja (co-founder, Jawa Motorcycles), has confirmed that the company will begin deliveries of both the motorcycles in the last week of June. To recall, both the cruiser bikes were launched with dual-channel ABS in December 2018. Here are the details.
Jawa, Jawa 42: At a glance
The standard Jawa sports a retro look featuring bulbous headlamps and mudguards, rounded fuel tanks, dual-exhausts, analog instrument console and a lot of chrome work which adds to its rugged look. On the other hand, the Jawa 42 comes with a fresh modern design featuring a digital-analog instrument console, smaller headlights, and a bunch of new-age color options.
Engine and Mileage
The Jawa and the Jawa 42 are powered by the same short stroke, liquid-cooled 293cc engine which is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and is capable of producing 27bhp of maximum power and 28Nm of peak torque. Both the motorcycles offer a mileage of 37.5kmpl, a top speed of 121kmph and can do 0-100kmph in 13.5 seconds.
Jawa, Jawa 42: On the road
The Jawa and Jawa 42 come equipped with disc brakes on front wheels and drum brakes on the rear wheels along with the dual-channel ABS. Further, the bikes sport Telescopic Hydraulic Forks on the front side along with Gas Canister - Twin shock hydraulic unit on the rear to handle suspension duties.
And, what's the pocket pinch?
In India, the dual-channel ABS variants of Jawa and Jawa 42 are priced at Rs. 1.72 lakh and Rs. 1.63 lakh, respectively. This is around Rs. 9,000 costlier than their previous counterparts with single-channel ABS.
