#IPL2019: BSNL's prepaid plans offer more data, and cricket updates
As the Indian Premier League 2019 season kicks off today, BSNL has announced two new prepaid plans to attract cricket lovers in India. The state-run telco has launched Rs. 199 and Rs. 499 recharge packs that offer free cricket SMS alerts alongside daily data and free calling benefits. Here's a closer look at the new BSNL prepaid packs.
What you get from the Rs. 199 plan
BSNL's Rs. 199 prepaid pack offers free calling and 1GB of daily data for a total validity period of 28 days. The plan also comes with Cricket PRBT (Personalized Ring Back Tone) and Cricket SMS Alerts for the ongoing matches. Notably, the free calling benefit is limited to the home circle only, meaning standard roaming charges will apply if you move to other circles.
What are the benefits of BSNL's 499 plan?
The Rs. 499 prepaid plan offers unlimited voice calling (local+national), 1GB of daily data and 100 SMSes per day for a total of 90 days. Moreover, users also get free PRBT feature with an option to change caller tunes for unlimited times. Lastly, like the Rs. 199 plan, this plan will offer Cricket SMS alerts as well.
Both plans are active across India
Both the Rs. 199 and Rs. 499 prepaid plans are valid starting from today i.e. March 23 across all of BSNL's 20 telecom circles. Recently, BSNL also confirmed that it added close to 10 lakh subscribers in January this year.
Here are some other plans that you can check out
While BSNL's latest prepaid plans offer cricket updates, they don't offer enough data for streaming IPL matches live. Hence, we suggest Jio's Rs. 299 plan which offers 3GB of daily data, unlimited calling, and 100 daily SMSes for 28 days. Further, this plan also gives free access to Jio apps which include popular services such as JioTV, JioSaavn, JioMoney, and JioCinema.
