Shop while socializing! Instagram Shopping launched in eight new countries
Exactly one-year ago, on March 21, Instagram had rolled out its Shopping feature in the US after initial testing in 2016. And now, the Facebook-owned socializing app has expanded Shopping to eight new countries. With this free-of-cost service, Instagram aims to make shopping "less transactional and more immersive" thereby allowing you to shop in a single tap without leaving the app. Here are the details.
Instagram Shopping will change the way you shop
Instagram has now launched its 'Shopping' feature in eight more countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK. This feature allows brands to tag the products with pricing information within their posts. The users can simply tap on those products to get more information such as product details, pricing and links to the brands' online stores where they can make their purchases.
Where to find the Shopping on Instagram posts?
Instagram users can view these posts directly in their regular feed, or by searching for the brand's business profile, or via a direct message. These shopping posts are quite distinguishable from regular posts since they are marked with a 'shopping bag' icon.
Shopping on Instagram is a win-win solution
For businesses, Instagram Shopping will direct customers to the online stores without letting them leave the app. Also, tagging a product is as simple as tagging a person in a post. And for shoppers, they can get access to price details and product information via tags and can complete shopping on brand's online stores. The seamless process makes it a win-win for every stakeholder involved.
