India will have 1 lakh start-ups by 2025: Mohandas Pai
India will have one lakh start-ups by 2025, employing 32.5 lakh people, Manipal Global Education Chairman T V Mohandas Pai said today. He added start-up ecosystem will facilitate creating $10 trillion economy in India by 2030. Additionally, start-ups will also help solve country's problems. Currently, there are 32,000 start-ups in India and every year 7,000 more come around. Here's more on what he said.
Who is Mohandas Pai?
Pai, an angel investor, is the founder/co-founder of several firms, including Exfinity, Aarin Capital and StartupXseed, and an advisor to Manipal Education and Medical Group, Ideaspring Capital and InGovern Research Services Private Limited. He served as the Infosys CFO during 1994-2006 and later moved to HR, Education and Research, and Administration. Since July'16, he has been a Public Interest Director at the NSE.
