Direct tax collections up 15.8% to Rs. 3.86L crore

The rise was attributed to a significant growth in advance tax mop-up.
Net direct tax collections constitute 39.4% of the budget estimate of direct taxes at Rs 9.8L crore this fiscal.
Provisional figures upto September show net collections stood at Rs. 3.86L crore, a 15.8% increase than the corresponding 2016 period.

Till September, advance tax collections stood at Rs. 1.77L crore: a growth of 11.5% over the corresponding period of 2016.
Growth in Corporate Income Tax (CIT) Advance Tax stood at 8.1%; that is in Personal Income Tax (PIT) Advance Tax is 30.1%.
Refunds of Rs. 79,660cr have been issued during April-September'17. Gross direct tax collections increased by 10.3% to Rs. 4.66L crore.
