Recharge someone's phone, make money using JioPOS Lite app
In the wake of India's nationwide lockdown, businesses carrying out mobile recharges have come to a complete halt. The change has deeply affected people across the country, especially those in rural India. Now, to tackle this situation, Jio has launched a new app that allows its customers to recharge other numbers and make some money in the process. Here's all about it.
Millions rely on recharge shops for basic phone services
Today, a large number of people recharge their numbers online using payment apps like Paytm and PhonePe. The services are handy, but there are significant others (many in rural parts of India) who still rely on offline recharge shops located in their neighborhood to have continuous access to basic phone services. These people have been affected by the lockdown.
However, Jio has a solution now
To ensure continued access to mobile service across the country, Jio has launched the JioPOS Lite app. The service allows existing Jio customers, who can add money online, to sign up as a partner and recharge the numbers of people who can't use online payment for mobile recharges. For every recharge of Rs. 100 or more, the company will give you 4.16% as commission.
How to start with JioPOS Lite?
To start earning, download JioPOS Lite on your Android phone, give necessary permissions and sign up with your email and phone number. After that, validate your number by entering the received OTP, and select your location on the map before clicking on 'Done'. Finally, sign in using the same number and set an mPIN, which will open the mobile recharge dashboard created by Jio.
Now, you can add money, start recharging numbers
Once you land on the dashboard, you can start adding money and recharging numbers (while taking cash from the public). The amount you load into the app will be added with the 4.16% commission on it. So, if you choose to add Rs. 5,000, Rs. 5,208 will be credited into the account, as an incentive of sorts.
App only for Android
As of now, JioPOS Lite is available only for Android devices, and there is no word on when the iOS version would be launched. It also offers a free passbook facility, showing a detailed record of transactions from the last 20 days.
