Since Reliance Jio disrupted the telecom industry, the competition has grown manifolds. And this has made telcos update their plans to provide more data and added benefits. So, if you happen to enjoy Netflix and Amazon Prime, but don't like paying the subscription charges, you can avail their services for free via your postpaid mobile plan. Here's how it works.
Firstly, a look at Netflix and Amazon Prime subscription plans
Netflix's Basic monthly subscription starts at Rs. 500 and allows non-HD streaming on one device. The Standard plan costs Rs. 650 (HD streaming on two screens) while the Premium plan, offering HD/UHD content on four devices, costs Rs. 800/month. On the other hand, Amazon Prime membership costs Rs. 129 monthly or Rs. 999 annually, and offers Prime Video, Prime Music and free faster deliveries.
These Vodafone postpaid plans offer free Netflix access
Vodafone's Rs. 999 plan offers 2 months of Netflix access with 100GB data, upto 200GB data rollover option, 50 ISD minutes and free national calls. Likewise, the Rs. 1,299 and Rs. 1,999 (free 3-month Netflix) plans offer the same benefits as Rs. 999 plan but with more data and ISD minutes. Lastly, the Rs. 2,999 plan offers complimentary 1-year of Netflix subscription worth Rs. 6,999.
These Vodafone plans offer free Amazon Prime membership
Vodafone postpaid customers can get an annual membership of Amazon Prime, which costs Rs. 999, with any mobile postpaid plan starting from Rs. 399. Notably, both the Netflix and Amazon Prime memberships can be activated via the Vodafone Play app.
These Airtel plans offer free Netflix subscription
Apart from Vodafone, Bharti Airtel has also partnered with Netflix to offer its postpaid and broadband subscribers, free access to the streaming giant's video content. Airtel's premium postpaid plans, starting at Rs. 649, offer free access of Netflix for 3 months along with several data and calling benefits. Likewise, Airtel's broadband plans, starting at Rs. 999, come with a free 3-month of Netflix subscription.
These Airtel plans offer free Amazon Prime subscription
Airtel postpaid subscribers can get a one year free Amazon Prime membership, with monthly plans now starting at Rs. 399 as against Rs. 499. Notably, both the Amazon Prime and Netflix subscriptions can be activated via the Airtel TV app or My Airtel app.
Airtel is offering upto Rs. 1,500 discount on postpaid referrals
Separately, Bharti Airtel has launched a new referral program under which postpaid customers will get discount coupons which can be redeemed against the bills. Under the offer, existing customers will get three discount coupons of Rs. 50 each up to a maximum of Rs. 1,500 (for 10 referrals). Moreover, the new postpaid subscriber will also get three discount coupons of Rs. 50 each.
BSNL also offers free Amazon Prime membership on select plans
Further, the state-run telco Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has also recently started offering free Amazon Prime subscription with all its postpaid and broadband landline plans starting at Rs. 399 and Rs. 749, respectively.
