    What's the story

As the latest edition to the country's most popular automatic scooter Honda Motorcycles & Scooter (India) has launched the fifth-generation model - the Activa 5G.

This new fifth-generation costs around Rs. 1,000 more than the Activa 4G and is available in two variants - standard and deluxe - priced at Rs. 52,460 and Rs. 54,325 respectively (ex-showroom Delhi prices).

    Here's more.

    Styling

The Active 5G looks a lot like the Activa 4G

The Activa 5G, which looks quite similar to its predecessor, gets new design elements.

The scooter now sports a new dash and LED headlamp along with some chrome highlights on the front apron.

The tail section has also been slightly tweaked with the removal of seat opening key-hole from the side panel.

    Information

Two new colors to set it apart from its predecessors

The Activa 5G, along with some cosmetic design changes, also gets two new color options - Dazzle Yellow Metallic and Pearl Spartan Red. These two options come alongside the six regular color options we saw in the previous generation model.

    Fifth-generation stuff

Activa 5G gets a host of new features

The Activa 5G gets a host of upgraded features and utilities for better security and convenience.

The fifth-generation scooter now includes an LED headlamp with positioning light, a redesigned smart digital-analog instrument cluster with Eco-Speed Indicator and a new front hook for holding bags.

The scooter also gets a new 4-in-1 lock with a seat opening switch and an optional under-seat mobile charging port.

    Performance

Performance wise, no fifth-generation stuff here

In terms of power and performance, there are not many mechanical changes when compared to Activa 4G.

The Activa 5G retains the 109cc HET (Honda Eco Technology) engine to draw 8PS of power and 9Nm of torque. Notably, this engine also complies with the BS-IV emission standards.

As for the braking performance, the Activa 5G gets Honda's proprietary Combi Brake System (CBS) technology.
