Harley Davidson to introduce an affordable motorcycle for Asian markets
Harley Davidson has partnered with Chinese automaker Qianjiang Motorcycle Co. to manufacture an affordable entry-level motorcycle for the Asian market. The American automaker has also released a render image of the bike which reveals that it would feature a naked-street look. Reportedly, the bike is expected to launch in China by the end of 2020 followed by other markets including India. Here's more.
Let's take a look at the bike
The render image reveals that the Harley Davidson 350 would sport a naked street look, rounded headlamps, dual-tone color scheme along with chrome and blacked-out fitments. However, the other details about its design specifications are still unknown at the moment. We expect the bike to feature a digital-analog instrument console, an all LED setup for lighting.
Power and performance
The company has confirmed that the upcoming motorcycle would be powered by a 338cc unit. Also, the rendered images gave us a hint that it would be a parallel twin engine. The engine is expected to churn out power figures close to 35PS and 25Nm.
On the road
On the safety front, the Harley Davidson 350 is expected to come equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels along with the dual-channel ABS. To handle the suspension duties, the motorcycle is likely to house conventional telescopic forks on the front side and a monoshock suspension on the rear.
Finally, what will be the pricing?
The Harley Davidson is expected to launch officially in China by the end of 2020 and is likely to arrive in India by 2021. As for the pocket pinch, we expect the bike to arrive at a price of around Rs. 3 lakh in India. Lastly, it will take on the likes of Royal Enfield 350 and Jawa 42 in the country.
