Google is the top technology company in terms of pay and employee benefits, a survey has revealed. The 'Best Compensation in 2019' survey was conducted by Comparably, a workplace culture and compensation monitoring site. Here's how much employees at Google earn
According to Comparably, the average estimated annual salary of a Google employee, including base and bonus, is $133,066 ($63 per hour) while the estimated median salary is $134,386 ($64 per hour). The highest-paying job at Google is that of the Director of Finance, who pulls in $600,000 annually. On the other hand, the lowest would be that of a Receptionist, earning $37,305 annually.
Google best company for perks/benefits, happiness, leadership
Apart from compensation, Comparably designated Google the best in terms of happiness, leadership, outlook, and perks and benefits, based on employee feedback in 2019. Comparably also rated Google among the best in terms of CEOs for diversity and women this year.
How was this data compiled?
The survey is based on 10 million ratings across 50,000 companies in the US, collected by Comparably through anonymous employee feedback. It was collected over a year between September 12, 2018-September 12, 2019. For its 'Best Compensation in 2019' list for large companies (with 500+ employees), Comparably collected feedback from at least 75 employees. For Google, Comparably had 682 salary records from its employees.
Here's how much employees at Facebook and Microsoft earn
For Facebook, ranked second, Comparably estimated an annual salary, including base and bonus, at $140,602 with an estimated median salary if $149,718. Meanwhile, the average estimated annual salary, including base and bonus, at Microsoft (ranked third) is $120,662 while the estimated median salary is $162,818. Amazon is rated 11th on the Best Compensation in 2019 list while Apple takes the 12th spot.
What did last year's rankings look like?
Last year, too, Google had taken the top spot on Comparably's Best Compensation list. Facebook also maintained its second rank from last year, however, Microsoft was ranked 4th in 2018. The third spot was taken by Salesforce, a cloud-based software company. Further, the fifth spot was taken by Netflix, which fell to 29 this year, while Apple was ranked sixth in 2018.
