Dubsmash that has fast gained popularity amongst Indian youth, has made its way into Bollywood's heart too. With actors like Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, Sonakshi Sinha, Priyanka Chopra and Alia Bhatt busy dubsmashing, it might become bigger than it already is. It has also caught badminton ace Saina Nehwal's fancy, who has posted her videos mouthing Paresh Rawal's dialogues.

What is Dubsmash?
Dubsmash is a lip-sync app that lets smartphone users upload dubbed music videos or dialogues from famous movies. It was created by a team of German developers – Daniel Taschik, Jonas Druppel and Roland Grenke and was launched in November 2014. Dubsmash is available for both android and iPhone users.
Trending but is Dubsmash legal?
As far as Dubsmash content's legality is concerned, there are some concerns over it. As long as the messages of the copyrighted images are being shared privately, it is harmless. However, uploading on social networks such as Facebook or Instagram is almost certainly illegal. Technically, using copyright clips can lead to prosecution, unless they are self created.
Dubsmash climbing up the popularity charts
The app has been downloaded more than 20 million times since its genesis. It became the number one app in the iOS store in the founder's' home country, Germany within a week of its release; Later, it went on to occupy the same position in 29 other countries.
Twitter goes Dubsmash crazy
According to analytics engine Topsy, Dubsmash has received a towering 4.54 lakh mentions on Twitter in the past 30 days.
