Savitri Jindal, chairperson of the Jindal Group, is the richest woman in India, with a net worth of $17.7 billion, according to Forbes' Billionaires List 2022. This year, 11 Indian women, including four newcomers, were added to the global rich list. Falguni Nayar, the CEO of beauty and fashion giant Nykaa, was among the newcomers, who joined the billionaires' club in November 2021.

Forbes, one of the most influential business magazines, uses stock prices and exchange rates to calculate the net worths of individuals. This year's Forbes Billionaires List has a total of 327 women. According to the report, Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, the granddaughter of L'Oréal's founder, is the wealthiest woman in the world in 2022, with a net wealth of $74.8 billion.

Meyers is succeeded by Alice Walton ($65.3 billion) on the list, the daughter of Walmart founder Sam Walton, who is followed by Julia Koch ($60 billion) of the Koch industries, and MacKenzie Scott ($43.5 billion). Scott recently donated $12.5 billion to nearly 1,250 organizations.
