He suggested that more individuals like Musk in government could help bridge the current political divide in the US. "If we could get more Elon Musks in the government, this country would not be in the situation it's in, divided so much," he said.

Musk has previously dismissed rumors about a potential role in a future Trump administration. However, during a recent livestream with former President Donald Trump, he expressed interest in serving on a government efficiency commission if Trump were to win the election. "I think it would be great to just have a government efficiency commission that ... ensures that the taxpayers' hard-earned money is spent in good way, and I'd be happy to help out on such a commission," Musk said.
