Ducati Scrambler 1100 launched in India for Rs. 10.91 lakh
Italian automaker Ducati has launched the 2018 Scrambler 1100 in India. Ducati is offering the bike in three variants, starting with the base model Scrambler 1100 which is priced at Rs. 10.91 lakh. The mid-end Scrambler 1100 Special costs Rs. 11.12 lakh while the top-end Scrambler 1100 Sport comes at Rs. 11.42 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). Here's more about the new Ducati Scrambler 1100.
At a glance
Ducati's biggest Scrambler till date, the 2018 Scrambler is built on a steel-trellis frame with a double-sided aluminum swingarm, twin spar and twin under-seat exhausts giving a muscular look to the retro-styled bike. Up front, the Ducati tourer gets revised headlamps and a full-digital instrument panel featuring a capsule-shaped secondary display that's integrated with the main circular display.
Engine and Power
The 2018 Ducati Scrambler 1100 is powered by a new 1,079 cc air-cooled 90-degree V-twin engine which generates 85bhp (maximum) at 7,600rpm, and 88Nm of peak torque at 4,750rpm. The bike offers three riding modes with the Active and Journey modes providing maximum power but with aggressive and refined throttle responses, respectively. The City mode gives a toned-down 75bhp with a smooth throttle response.
On the road
The 2018 Scrambler 1100 gets fully-adjustable 45mm Marzocchi upside-down forks while at the rear, the bike comes equipped with an adjustable KYB monoshock. For braking performance, Ducati has employed twin 330mm discs up front along with radially-mounted Brembo M4-32B monobloc calipers. For handling, the Scrambler 1100 gets a four-level traction control system, Bosch cornering ABS, and adjustable clutch and brake levers.
Pre-booking opens, deliveries slated to begin next month
The base model Scrambler 1100 is available in '62 Yellow and Shining Black color. The Scrambler 1100 Sport comes in Viper Black while the Special model will be available in Custom Grey color. Notably, bookings for the bike are now open across all Ducati dealerships in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Kolkata and Chennai, and deliveries are slated to commence next month.
