BSNL revises Rs. 96, 118, 153 prepaid plans: Details here
BSNL has revised three of its affordable prepaid plans to reintroduce the Rs. 96 pack with lower calling benefits while adding the PRBT (personalized ring back tone) feature on the Rs. 118 and Rs. 153 plans. To recall, the Rs. 96 option was initially launched for a limited 3-month promotional run, offering unlimited calling benefits. Here's all about the revised plans.
What are the benefits of the revised Rs. 96 plan?
The Rs. 96 prepaid plan was initially introduced in July with benefits such as unlimited calling and 100 daily SMSes for 21 days and a total validity of 180 days. However, as part of the revision, the free calling benefit has been reduced to 250 minutes/day on any network within India while the SMS quota and the total validity remain the same as before.
What's new in the Rs. 118 and Rs. 153 packs?
The Rs. 118 and Rs.153 vouchers continue to offer the same benefits as before but with the added facility of personalized ring back tone. With both these packs, you get 0.5GB of daily data and 250 minutes of daily calling for a total validity period of 28 days. After the FUP data limit is reached, you get internet access at 40Kbps.
Recently, BSNL also downgraded its Rs. 1,098 prepaid plan
Meanwhile, in August, BSNL downgraded its Rs. 1,098 unlimited prepaid plan to offer lesser data and validity. The state-run telco has reduced the validity of this plan from 84 days to 75 days while also lowering the 'unlimited data' benefit to just 375GB. However, the plan continues to offer unlimited free voice calling and 100 daily SMSes across India.
In some circles, BSNL is still offering 84 days validity
The revisions introduced in the Rs. 1,098 plan are currently live in select regions only. In some circles like Haryana, Bihar, and Karnataka, the Rs. 1,098 prepaid plan is still listed with the old benefit of 84 days validity.
