2020 BMW X6 unveiled, global launch in November 2019
German automaker BMW has unveiled the all-new BMW X6 internationally. The third-generation model, set to arrive in November 2019, is based on BMW's CLAR architecture and is slightly bigger in size than its outgoing model. The car is available in four trims: petrol-powered xDrive40i and M50i along with the diesel-based xDrive30d and M50d. Here is our roundup.
At a glance
Talking about exteriors, the BMW X6 looks like a premium luxury car sporting the BMW's signature kidney grille with lighting function and the angular headlights. On the back side, it gets a sharp-edged tailgate and dual exhausts. Moreover, the third-generation X6 has more wheelbase and width than its outgoing model, thanks to BMW's CLAR architecture.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the BMW X6 gets a black cabin featuring leather upholstery along with the leather-wrapped multifunctional steering wheel and paddle shifters. It sports a 12.3-inch infotainment system with navigation and BMW's personal voice assistant. Moreover, the cabin also gets a bunch of handy features such as four-zone climate control, massage function, and a panoramic sunroof.
On the road
The BMW X6 comes equipped with ABS along with EBD and traction control for better grip on the road. The car also gets air suspension with an 80mm of variation in ride height along with active roll bars, stop-and-go function, and rear-wheel steering support. Further, the cabin is equipped with driver and passenger airbags.
Power and performance
The petrol engine on M50i is capable of producing 530bhph of power and 750Nm of torque, while the xDrive40i churns out 340bhp of power and 450Nm of torque. On the other hand, the diesel mill on M50d churns out 400bhp of power and 760Nm of torque, while the xDrive30d makes 265bhp of power and 620Nm of peak torque.
And, what about pricing?
As for the pocket pinch, the BMW X6 is expected to be priced upwards of Rs. 90 lakh in India. Meanwhile, we expect the third-generation model to hit Indian roads sometime around next year.
