2019 BMW S1000RR bike to be launched on June 25
BMW Motorrad is expected to launch its next-generation BMW S1000RR in India on June 25. The motorcycle will be available in 3 variants- a standard variant, sports variant, and the one with the M package. To recall, the bike was unveiled last November at the EICMA show in Milano, Italy. Here are the details.
2019 S1000RR also comes updated with an M Performance package
As part of BMW's M Performance package, the 2019 S1000RR comes with a new Motorsport paint finish, M carbon fiber wheels, M lightweight battery pack, M Sport seats, and the M Chassis kit with rear ride height adjustment as well as a swing arm pivot.
BMW S1000RR: At a glance
The BMW S1000RR features a super-sport design, sharp features, and an attractive paint job. With a kerb weight of 208kg, the bike runs on 17-inch carbon fiber wheels. Among other features, it offers a 6.5-inch digital instrument console, a bi-directional quick-shifter, and cruise control. For lighting, the bike uses twin LED headlamps along with LED daytime running lights.
Engine and Mileage
Powering the BMW S1000RR is a 999cc Liquid Cooled 4-Stroke DOHC engine which is capable of making 198.5PS of power at 13,500 rpm 113Nm of peak torque at 10,500rpm. Moreover, the bike is mated to a 6-Speed gearbox and promises a mileage of 12Kmpl.
BMW S1000RR: On the road
For braking performance, the BMW S1000RR comes equipped with 320mm and 220mm disc brakes on the front and rear wheels, respectively. Also, it has dual-channel ABS to avoid skidding while braking. To handle suspension duties, the bike houses an upside-down telescopic-fork suspension up front and 2-sided swing arm aluminium suspension on the rear. Lastly, it offers four riding modes- Rain, Road, Dynamic and Race.

The details about BMW S1000RR's pricing and availability will be shared by the company in the launch event itself. However, going by the specifications, we expect it to be priced around Rs. 18-20 lakh in India.
