Modi government launches BHASKAR, a centralized digital start-up registry
Union Minister Piyush Goyal has launched the Bharat Startup Knowledge Access Registry (BHASKAR). It is a comprehensive digital platform designed to centralize and enhance collaboration, among various stakeholders within the entrepreneurial landscape, and will support over 1.46 lakh DPIIT-recognized start-ups in India. The initiative is part of the government's Startup India program, and aligns with its vision to transform India into a global leader in innovation and entrepreneurship.
A multifunctional platform for start-ups
BHASKAR is a multifunctional platform that provides centralized access to resources and tools for start-ups, investors, mentors, service providers, and government bodies. Each stakeholder will receive a unique BHASKAR ID to facilitate communication and collaboration. The platform aims to bridge the gap between various players in the start-up ecosystem, fostering an environment conducive to innovation and growth.
It features powerful search capabilities
BHASKAR is set to support start-ups in India by streamlining access to knowledge and resources that can propel entrepreneurs, from ideation to execution. The platform will consolidate various resources, permitting start-ups to quickly find information relevant to their needs. It also features powerful search capabilities for users to easily locate collaborators and opportunities that align with their business goals.
BHASKAR aims to stimulate job creation and economic growth
BHASKAR is not just designed to support start-ups but also aims to stimulate job creation and economic growth across India. By simplifying access to funding and mentorship resources, the platform will encourage more individuals to pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions. As start-ups grow and thrive, they are tipped to contribute significantly to employment opportunities within their communities.
BHASKAR to address regional disparities in startup ecosystem
BHASKAR also aims to address regional disparities by ensuring that start-ups from underserved areas have equal access to resources and opportunities. This inclusivity is crucial for maintaining a balanced entrepreneurial landscape across India. However, the platform's success will depend on continuous support from government bodies and established industry players, including expansion of funding avenues and enhancing mentorship programs tailored specifically for new entrepreneurs.
