Bharti Airtel's Q3 net profit soars by 505% to ₹14,781cr

Bharti Airtel has posted a whopping 505% jump in its net profit for the quarter ending December 31, 2024.
The telecom giant's net profit stood at ₹14,781 crore, up from ₹2,442 crore in the previous year.
The massive growth, which topped market expectations, was attributed to a number of factors such as tariff hikes and a better subscriber mix.
Revenue growth
Revenue rises by 19%
Bharti Airtel's revenue also witnessed a massive 19% jump, hitting ₹45,129 crore in the third quarter of FY25.
This is a major increase from ₹37,900 crore posted during the same period last year.
The integration of Indus Towers from mid-Q3 FY25 and contributions from non-wireless businesses were major drivers behind this revenue growth.
Financial boost
Airtel records 1-time gain of ₹7,546cr
In the reporting quarter, Bharti Airtel also booked a one-time gain of ₹7,546 crore.
However, despite the financial boost, the firm's shares on BSE closed 2.47% lower at ₹1,619.55 each today.
Bharti Airtel's Vice Chairman and MD Gopal Vittal noted the strong performance in both India and African markets as key drivers behind their successful quarter.
Subscriber growth
ARPU reaches ₹245 in Q3
Bharti Airtel also reported an industry-leading growth in Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) to ₹245. The company added 6.5 million smartphone users during this period as well. Vittal attributed these achievements to their focus on acquiring quality customers and portfolio premiumization strategies.
