Could Baba Ramdev soon launch lipsticks?!
After launching a range of products, Baba Ramdev is now considering a new venture: lipsticks! When Ramdev was visiting the sets of 'Sabse Bada Kalakar', a contestant's mother asked him about his plans of entering the beauty industry by producing lipsticks. He said, "Aapne maanga hai to aapka sapna pura karunga main! (now that you've asked, I'll make your dream come true.")
Baba Ramdev's famous Patanjali Ayurved
Patanjali Ayurved was founded by Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev and his associate Acharya Balkrishna in 2006 and has grown exponentially ever since. It was set up with an aim of establishing Ayurveda in accordance and coordination with ancient wisdom and latest technology. It has become India's third-largest FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) player, surpassing companies like Godrej, Nestle, Britannia, and Dabur.
Other new products on the anvil
Patanjali is exploring some new product plans, including in dairy and electricity. Ramdev said the company would enter the dairy sector by 2022. As for electricity, Ramdev's brand is working on bull power: generating electricity through bulls. Patanjali is also going to start manufacturing textiles soon, he announced recently. In April, Patanjali ventured into the food market by launching its first restaurant in Chandigarh.
How will the lipsticks be tested?
The Baba has claimed he tries all products on himself before finalizing them. Arshad Warsi, a judge on 'Sabse Bada Kalakar', took the chance to ask (jokingly) that if he were to launch lipsticks as he had said, would he try them on himself too!
