Zomato subsidiaries' auditor resigns, clearing path for Deloitte
Zomato, the popular food delivery platform, has announced that Batliboi & Associates, the auditor of its subsidiaries Zomato Hyperpure and Blink Commerce, has resigned effective immediately. The resignation took place today. Batliboi & Associates had been appointed as statutory auditors for these wholly-owned subsidiaries for a five-year term starting April 1, 2023. The information was disclosed by Zomato in a regulatory filing.
Resignation aims to streamline audit process
The resignation of Batliboi & Associates is intended to align the statutory auditor of Zomato's subsidiaries, with the auditors of the holding company. The firm stated, "Further to our various discussions and email dated May 8, 2024, from the Global Controller Finance, Zomato Limited, we understand that the holding company's management wants to align...to avoid some duplication and bring some efficiencies in the audit process at group level."
Deloitte set to become new auditor for Zomato subsidiaries
Now, Deloitte Haskins & Sells LLP, the current statutory auditor of Zomato, is poised to be appointed as the statutory auditor for both Zomato Hyperpure Private Limited (ZHPL) and Blink Commerce Private Limited (BCPL). This transition is part of Zomato's strategy to streamline its audit process. The company's board is scheduled to meet tomorrow, to consider and approve results for the fourth quarter and financial year ended March 2024.
