German Automaker Audi has revealed its all-new SUV, the SQ8. The performance-oriented SUV packs a solid 4.0-liter V8 turbo-diesel engine which produces a range-topping torque of 900Nm and comes equipped with a 48V mild hybrid electric unit. Notably, the engine automatically turns off the turbochargers when the car is at low speed to boost the fuel economy. Here are the finer details.

Talking about exteriors, the all-new Audi SQ8 features a premium SUV look with a sporty design that will surely make some heads turn. The SUV comes with a chrome finished front grille housed in a silver colored frame, along with the revamped air inlets, LED headlights, alloy wheels, and quad exhausts.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the Audi SQ8 features Alcantara leather upholstery with a premium looking black and chrome finished dashboard. The SUV sports a power steering wheel with multifunctional capabilities as the standard and an all-wheel steering as an option. Further, it features a dual touch screen instrument cluster alongside an Audi Virtual cockpit which shows model specific graphics.
Power and performance
The performance-oriented Audi SQ8, mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, is powered by 4.0-liter V8 turbo-diesel engine which churns out impressive power figures close to 429bhp and 900Nm. Also, there is a 48V mild hybrid unit which produces upto 10bhp of power and keeps the car running for up to 40 seconds at speeds between 55-160kmph without the engine being active.
Audi SQ8: On the road
On the safety front, the Audi SQ8 comes equipped with carbon fiber ceramic disc brakes on the front and rear wheels. To handle the suspension duties, the SUV houses adaptive air suspension as standard along with an optional sport differential suspension package. Further, the Audi SQ8 promises a top-speed of 250kmph and can do 0-100kmph in just 4.8 seconds.
And, what will be the pricing?
The company has not confirmed the SQ8's official pricing at the moment. However, looking at top-of-the-line specs we expect it to be priced upwards of Rs. 90 lakh if it launches in the Indian market. As part of its global testing program, the SUV was spotted undergoing road tests in India, but there is no news about its India launch at the moment.
