e-Tron: Audi's first all-electric car arriving in India soon
Audi has previewed its first-ever all-electric production car, the e-Tron, in India. The electric SUV can charge fully in around 40 minutes using a fast charger, and offers an impressive range of 400km on a single charge. It will arrive in India through CBU (Completely Built Up) route and is expected to be priced upwards of Rs. 1.50 crore. Here's more.
Let's take a look at Audi e-Tron
On the design front, the Audi e-Tron shares its underpinnings with other Q-series SUVs offered by the brand. The electric SUV comes with a silver-finished octagonal front grille, the wing mirrors with virtual HD cameras, and the aerodynamically-designed chrome alloy wheels. For lighting, it houses LED headlamps and DRLs along with the LED taillamps.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the e-Tron comes with Audi's Virtual Cockpit setup wherein the riders can customize the instrument cluster according to their choice. The SUV sports a dual touchscreen panel- one for the infotainment system and the other for managing the utility functions. Also, it gets a B&O sound system, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and four-zone climate control system.
Power and performance
The Audi e-Tron packs two electric motors: the front unit makes 125kW while the one on the rear churns out 140kW, making the total combined power of 265kW or 355bhp and a peak torque of 561Nm. Moreover, it promises a range of 400km on a single charge, a top speed of 200kmph and can do 0-100kmph in just 6.6 seconds.
And, what will be the pricing?
The Audi e-Tron will be officially unveiled in India on July 12 and is expected to be launched sometime later this year. As for the pocket pinch, we expect it to be priced upwards of Rs. 1.50 crore in India.
