Amazon's audiobooks service, Audible launched in India for Rs. 199/month
Amazon has finally launched its much-awaited audiobooks service in India. Called Audible, the service lets you listen to your favourite books with a narrators' list comprising Arundhati Roy, Stephen Fry, among others. The subscription, which is currently in Beta in India, starts at Rs. 199/month and comes with a 30-day free trial for all users. Here's everything to know.

Audible, as the name suggests, lets you listen to over 200,000 audiobooks including Indian and International bestsellers. Moreover, you can experience authors like Arundhati Roy, Robin Sharma and Stephen Fry read their own creations. The Audible app, available on iOS and Android, also offers a car mode, sleep timer, offline access and adjustable narration speed, among other features.

Audible subscription in India starts at Rs. 199/month. There's also a 6-month and 12-month subscription plan priced at Rs. 1,345 and Rs. 2,332, respectively. Moreover, Audible is offering a 30-day free trial to all users. Notably, select users (possibly Amazon Prime members) are being offered a 90-day free trial option along with free 1 credit/month which can be redeemed to buy any audiobook.
What are the benefits of Audible membership?
Members will get 1 credit each month to buy an audiobook and can keep up to six unused credits in their account. Members will also get a 30% discount while purchasing additional audiobooks. Moreover, in case one doesn't like an audiobook, it can be exchanged for free. And most importantly, all the audiobooks one purchases remain theirs even if they cancel the subscription.
