    All-new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga launched, starting at Rs. 7.44 lakh

    What's the story

    The all-new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga 2018 has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs. 7.44 lakh.

    The new Ertiga will be available in 10 variants - four diesel, and six petrol - and is priced Rs. 2.55 lakh less than its nearest rival, the Mahindra Marazzo.

    Many had already booked the Ertiga, and Maruti Suzuki is still accepting bookings for Rs. 11,000.

    Engine

    What the new Ertiga offers under the hood

    The new Ertiga comes with two engine options - a 1.3 liter diesel, and a 1.5 liter petrol engine.

    The petrol engine offers 104bhp of horsepower, and a torque of 138Nm, while the diesel engine produces 89bhp, and 200Nm of torque.

    While the petrol engine comes with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic gearbox, the diesel engine only gets a 5-speed manual transmission.

    All you need to know about the new Ertiga's mileage

    In terms of mileage, the new Ertiga offers 19.34kmpl on petrol-manual variants, while the petrol-automatic variants offer 18.69kmpl. The diesel variants, on the other hand, offer a mileage of 25.47kmpl. Overall, the new Ertiga's mileage is 10% better than the previous generation Ertiga.

    Design

    The new Ertiga is bigger, more spacious, and looks premium

    The new Ertiga is longer, taller, and wider than the previous generation and looks more premium and spacious.

    Its ground clearance has been reduced to 18cm, but the wheelbase remains pretty much unchanged.

    Maruti has given 15-inch alloy wheels on the car, with select top-end models having 16-inch alloy wheels as well.

    The car is also lighter compared to the previous generation, and has a more rigid and sturdy body.

    Other features

    Other notable features of the new Ertiga

    On the interior, the new Ertiga gets a large infotainment screen with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

    Further, the new Ertiga gets a two-tone interior finish and wooden inserts on the dashboard and steering wheel for a premium feel.

    It will have roof-mounted AC vents, and comes with other features like charging ports, parking cameras, key-less entry etc.

    Dual-airbags, ABS, and EBD are standard for all variants.

    Pricing details of all Ertiga variants

    The complete pricing details are as follows.

    Petrol manual LXI, VXI, ZXI, ZXI+L: Rs. 7.44 lakh, Rs. 8.16 lakh, Rs. 8.99 lakh, and Rs. 9.50 lakh, respectively.

    Petrol automatic VXI AT, ZXI ATL: Rs. 9.18 lakh, and Rs. 9.98 lakh, respectively.

    Diesel LDI, VDI, ZDI, ZDI+: Rs. 8.84 lakh, Rs. 9.56 lakh, Rs. 10.39 lakh, and Rs. 10.50 lakh, respectively.
