    Fastest SUV by Lamborghini arrives in India for Rs. 3cr!

    What's the story

    Italian supercar maker Lamborghini has finally launched the much-awaited Urus super SUV (sports utility vehicle) at a price of Rs. 3 crore.

    The Urus is the fastest SUV in the world. With a top speed of 305kmph, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in only 3.6 seconds.

    It is the second SUV by Volkswagen-owned Lamborghini after the 1980s LM002.

    Launch

    Launched in India 38 days after global premiere

    Lamborghini Urus SUV has been launched in India only a month after its global debut. The Italian supercar maker had unveiled the super SUV on 4 December 2017.

    The Urus is based on the MLB platform just like other Volkswagen Group SUVs like the Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne, and Bentley Bentayga.

    The five-meter-long new Lamborghini model has a curb weight of 2.2 tons.

    Lamborghini develops largest carbon-ceramic brakes for Urus

    With a front-engine all-wheel-drive layout, Lamborghini Urus is powered by a 4.0-litre Twin Turbo V8 Engine that produces as much as 650hp and 850Nm of maximum torque output. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

    It seats up to five people and can hit 0-200kmph in 12.8 seconds.

    The SUV comes with 440mm front and 370mm rear carbon-ceramic brake discs.

    Drive Modes

    Six Drive Modes: An adaptive suspension setup

    The suspension system on the Lamborghini Urus SUV is adaptive, meaning the suspension of the vehicle can be adjusted according to the driver's requirement on various road surfaces.

    It comes with six drive modes: the regular Strada, Sport, and Corsa and also the new Neve (snow), Terra (off-road) and Sabbia (sand).

    Additionally, there is another entirely customizable drive mode called "Ego".

    Urus looks sporty and stunning compared to original concept

    On the front, the Urus is highlighted by a chunky mesh grille, laser-sharp LED headlights, and vents for airflow and engine cooling. On the back, it features a coupe roofline, the sleek LED taillights, a backup camera, and the quad exhaust tailpipes.

    Urus, an exciting product: Lamborghini India Head

    Speaking on the launch, Lamborghini India Chief Sharad Agarwal said India is a "strategic market" for the further growth of the automaker, considering the preference for SUVs in the country.

    He added that the company believes Urus SUV would be an exciting as well as an important product that is going to introduce a "completely new segment of customers" for Lamborghini in India.
