BSNL launches two new long-term prepaid plans as Diwali offer
BSNL has announced its Diwali Mahadhamaka offer under which two new prepaid plans, each with a validity of 365 days, have been launched. The plans, available for Rs. 1,699 and Rs. 2,099, will be available across all telecom circles, including Delhi and Mumbai circles. The move comes a couple of weeks after Reliance Jio announced its Diwali offer. Here are the details.
What BSNL is offering with the new plans
Both of BSNL's new plans will offer unlimited voice calls, including local, STD, and roaming, 100 free SMS per day, and a free personalized ring back tone. On top of these, the Rs. 1,699 plan will provide users with 3GB high-speed data per day - 1095GB over one year. The Rs. 2,099 will offer 1460GB of data over 365 days, with no daily limit. BSNL will also provide post-FUP speeds of 128Kbps on both plans.
BSNL is offering more data, but Jio is offering cashbacks
BSNL's Rs. 1,699 plan is expected to compete with Reliance Jio's Diwali plan, which is also worth Rs. 1,699, and is valid for a year. However, BSNL's offering of 3GB data per day is double of Reliance Jio's offering of 1.5GB per day data. Yet, it's worth noting that Jio users are eligible for 100% cashback on the plan, which will be credited to their MyJio account.
