ASUS ZenFone Max Pro to be Flipkart-exclusive: Details here
The ASUS ZenFone Max Pro smartphone will be launched in India on April 23 and sell exclusively via Flipkart. ASUS and Flipkart have entered a long-term strategic partnership under which they will co-create new products, especially for the Indian market. To this end, the two companies also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at a joint press conference in New Delhi.
Flipkart and ASUS enter long-term partnership
The collaboration will entail Flipkart being the exclusive partner for ASUS smartphones in India. From now on, it will sell all of ASUS' upcoming smartphones starting with the mid-end ZenFone Max Pro. It is also the first ASUS phone that is India-centric. Flipkart will also help ASUS market its devices in the country, planning and executing strategies based on consumer insights.
ZenFone Max Pro to be powered by Snapdragon 636 processor
The ZenFone Max Pro will reportedly be powered by a Snapdragon 636 processor and directly compete with smartphones like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, Honor 9 Lite, and Nokia 6 (2018). However, key specifications like display, camera, and price are yet to be revealed.
The Flipkart-ASUS collaboration to be mutually beneficial
According to Flipkart's VP for Mobile and Large Appliances Ajay Veer, the e-commerce giant is aiming to own 40% of India's total smartphone market by 2020, and the partnership will help it get closer to that goal. As for ASUS, the latest partnership will provide more visibility to its smartphone models in the online retail space.
