Airtel TV now available on web: Here's how to use
Airtel has finally introduced the web version of its Airtel TV app, bringing a host of premium content as well as live TV to the desktop. Previously, the service was only available on Android and iOS platform, but with web support now going live, subscribers can access Airtel's content library on any device that supports a Web browser. Here's how to get started.
How to use Airtel TV web service
Anyone who has an Airtel connection (Prepaid/Postpaid/Broadband/DTH) can access Airtel TV. To access Airtel TV on the web, you will have to visit the Airtel Xstream website and sign in using your mobile number after verifying your connection via an OTP. Airtel will then decipher the type of your subscription - premium, regular or lite - and offer the content you are eligible for.
And, how to get Airtel TV Premium subscription
Airtel TV Premium subscription offers access to all the latest TV shows, movies, videos, Live TV and catch up TV. This subscription is available for all prepaid customers who recharge with Rs. 199 or more, as well as, for all postpaid, DTH, and broadband customers.
Airtel also offers Regular and Lite subscriptions
If you recharge your prepaid connection with Rs. 99 but less than Rs. 199, you will get access to regular Airtel TV which offers some TV shows, movies, Live TV and catch up TV but not the premium content from providers like HOOQ and others. Lastly, if you recharge with Rs. 99, you can access Airtel TV Lite which provides some Live TV channels.
Here's a look at the content available on Airtel TV
While the web service provides access to Airtel TV, it doesn't support the entire content library available on the Airtel TV app. Reportedly, the content support is being added gradually and you can expect to see more titles coming to the web platform also. Presently, the web version is offering access to Live TV, several TV shows and a bunch of HOOQ-powered international content.
