Airtel's recharge plan of Rs. 9 offers unlimited voice calls
In a bid to combat competition from Reliance Jio, Airtel has launched a new entry-level recharge pack of Rs. 9 for its prepaid users. Under this, subscribers will be able to avail unlimited local, STD, and roaming voice calls. The company is also offering 100 SMS and 100MB of mobile data under the new scheme. However, all the services will be valid for one day.
This is opposed to Jio's entry-level plan of Rs. 19
The new offer comes as a counter to Reliance Jio's entry-level plan of Rs. 19. Under this, Jio offers unlimited voice calls, 20 SMS, and 150MB of mobile data, again valid for one day. It also comes with a complimentary subscription to Reliance Jio's suite of apps. Comparing both the plans, it can be concluded that currently, Airtel is offering a better deal.
Users can avail the new Airtel plan via its app/website
Users can subscribe to Airtel's new plan via the company's mobile app or website. The recharge pack is listed under the 'Combo Offers' section. It is ideal for people who want a pack that provides unlimited usage for one day.
Other plans: Airtel at Rs. 23, Jio at Rs. 52
Airtel's other entry-level plans also include a Rs. 23 recharge pack that offers unlimited calls, 100 SMS, and 200MB of data, all for two days. This stands against Reliance Jio's next most affordable plan of Rs. 52. Valid for seven days, it offers 1.05GB data with a daily limit of 0.15GB, 70 SMS per day and complimentary access to the Jio's suite of apps.
