Airtel now offers three Intex smartphones starting at Rs. 1,649
India's telecom wars have led to a bonanza for customers. First, it was drastically-lowered calling/internet rates, and then smartphones at never-before cheap prices. The latest offering is from Airtel, which has already launched phones in association with Karbonn and Celkon. Now it has partnered with Intex to offer the Aqua LIONS N1, Aqua A4 and Aqua S3 at effective prices starting at Rs. 1,649.
All about the Aqua LIONS N1 and the A4
The dual-SIM LIONS N1 comes with a 4-inch display, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage (expandable), 2MP rear camera and 0.3MP front camera. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and is powered by a 1.1GHz MediaTek processor and a 1,400mAh battery. The Aqua A4 is an improvement, with a 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, a 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC9832 processor and a 1750mAh battery.
The Aqua A3 is more powerful
The costlier dual-SIM Aqua A3 is packed with a 5-inch display, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage (expandable), 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera with LED flash in both sides. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC9832A processor and a 2450mAh battery. A high capacity charger (2A) claims to reduce charging time by 35%.
With Airtel, you get these for upto Rs. 3,000 less
For the Aqua LIONS N1, Aqua A4 and Aqua S3 (originally costing Rs. 3,799, 4,999 and 6,649), you need to pay make down payments of Rs. 3,149, Rs. 3,499 and Rs. 5,879. You have to recharge monthly with minimum Rs. 169 for 36 months. After 18 months, you will get a refund of Rs. 500 and another Rs. 1,000 after the next 18 months.
How can you use the refund?
The refunds will be credited to your Airtel Payments Bank account, which can then be used for transactions at hundreds of stores across India. So the LIONS N1, A4 and S3 will effectively cost Rs. 1,649, Rs. 1,999 and Rs. 4,379 respectively.
