Airtel Digital TV reduces prices of its set-top boxes
Airtel is working to expand its Digital TV service to more users as it aims to take on rivals like Tata Sky and Reliance's Jio HomeTV. In the latest volley, the Sunil Mittal-led company has reduced the prices of its HD and SD set-top boxes with the former seeing a Rs. 500 drop. Here's a look at the new prices.
Airtel Digital TV STBs now start at Rs. 1,100
With the latest price revision, the Airtel Digital TV Standard Definition (SD) set-top box is available at Rs. 1,100 while the High Definition (HD) box is listed at Rs. 1,300 (earlier price: Rs. 1,800). The company is also offering its recently launched Xtream Box at Rs. 3,639. However, the listed prices of the set-top boxes don't include any DTH pack.
Airtel's Xstream Box brings OTT content also
To recall, Airtel's Xstream Box is a hybrid set-top box that brings satellite TV and OTT content to your TV in up to 4K resolution. The device, powered by Android Pie, also gives users access to the Google Play Store as well as Airtel Store for apps and games. What's more? It offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, built-in Chromecast, Voice search, and smart remote control.
Meanwhile, Airtel recently launched a new All Channels pack
Further, Airtel has also launched a premium 'All channels' plan which offers more than 450 channels including HD, SD, and Free-to-Air channels. However, it doesn't include all the SD channels that have their respective HD versions included in the pack. For example, Start Sports 1 (SD) is not included because the pack already offers Star Sports 1 (HD).
The plan costs Rs. 1,675 including NCF charges
The 'All Channels' pack costs Rs. 1,315 per month. However, with the mandatory NCF charges introduced by TRAI, you will have to pay Rs. 1,675 per month for a single connection.
