Airtel launches 'all channels' DTH pack at Rs. 1,675/month
Airtel has announced a new 'all channels' DTH pack in India as it looks to take on Reliance's Jio Fiber-based Jio Home TV service. The mega DTH plan offers all HD and SD channels that are available on the company's Digital TV platform for a monthly cost of Rs. 1,675 (inclusive of all charges). Here is all about Airtel's new pack.
Airtel's all channels pack does not include any service channels
Several Airtel DTH packs come with a bunch of promotional and service channels. However, in the premium pack, you won't be bothered with service channels. The new all channels pack will also miss out on all SD channels that already have their respective HD versions. For example, Start Sports 1 (SD) is not included because the pack already offers Star Sports 1 (HD).
Separately, Airtel has also reduced NCF charges for multiple connections
Further, as part of a new scheme for users with multiple connections, Airtel would now charge Rs. 80 (excluding taxes) on secondary connections as against the standard fee of Rs. 130 plus taxes for the first 100 channels. However, the standard additional NCF of Rs. 20 (taxes extra) will be applicable for subsequent slots of 25 SD channels over and above the 100 channels.
Meanwhile, Airtel recently introduced a 1Gbps broadband plan in India
Indeed, Airtel is playing a catch-up game with Jio. Taking on Jio Fiber service, Airtel has recently announced a new V-Fiber plan which promises upto 1Gbps broadband speed and unlimited data access at Rs. 3,999/month. The plan also offers unlimited local+STD calling along with #AirtelThanks benefits including free 3-months of Netflix subscription, Amazon Prime annual subscription, access to ZEE5 and Xstream online streaming service.
Presently, Airtel's Ultra V-Fiber plan is available in select cities
Currently, Airtel V-Fiber's 'Ultra' plan is available in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Indore, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad. However, Airtel is likely to introduce the plan to other cities as well, and you can check the availability on the company's website.
