Airtel launches new 'All Channels' pack for Digital TV users
Airtel has introduced a new 'All Channels' DTH pack in India as it aims to take on Reliance's JioFiber-based Jio HomeTV service. The premium plan offers more than 450 channels that are available on the company's Digital TV platform including HD, SD, and Free-to-Air channels. The price of this mega plan is Rs. 1,315 per month, excluding the mandatory Network Capacity Fee (NCF).
The pack will miss SD channels that have HD counterparts
At present, Airtel Digital TV offers a total of 563 channels including 305 A-la-carte channels and 258 free-to-air channels. However, under the 'All Channels' pack, subscribers will not get all the channels. The pack will not include the SD channels that have their respective HD versions. For example, Start Sports 1 (SD) is not included because the pack already offers Star Sports 1 (HD).
The plan will cost Rs. 1,675 including NCF charges
As mentioned before, the 'All Channels' pack will cost Rs. 1,315 per month. However, with the mandatory NCF charges introduced by TRAI, the plan will cost Rs. 1,675 per month for a single connection.
Meanwhile, Airtel recently introduced a 1Gbps broadband plan in India
Airtel is playing a catch-up game with Jio and it's not just limited to television space. Recently, the telco launched a new V-Fiber plan which promises upto 1Gbps broadband speed and unlimited data access at Rs. 3,999/month. The plan also offers unlimited calling along with #AirtelThanks benefits including free 3-months of Netflix, Amazon Prime annual membership, access to ZEE5 and Xstream online streaming service.
Presently, Airtel's Ultra V-Fiber plan is available in select cities
Currently, Airtel V-Fiber's 'Ultra' plan is available in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Indore, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad. However, Airtel is likely to introduce the plan to other cities as well, and you can check the availability on the company's website.
