Airtel Digital TV: Everything to know about your DTH subscription

The new DTH regulations introduced by TRAI have brought with them a fair share of confusion and complexity.
However, in a bid to simplify channel selection, service providers such as Airtel, Tata Sky and DishTV have categorized channels in different buckets.
Today, we look at how Airtel has changed the subscription plans and channel packs for its new and existing customers.
User choice
Firstly, let's talk about the new rules
According to the new regulations, all DTH providers will have to provide a base pack with at least 100 free-to-air channels.
Your DTH service provider will charge Rs. 153.4 (inclusive of taxes) for the first 100 channels.
However, if you select more than 100 channels, the fee will increase by Rs. 23.60 (inclusive of taxes) for every 25 channels.

How Airtel will charge you for multiple TV connections
Notably, if you have subscribed for multiple TV connections under one Airtel Digital TV account, you'll have to pay Rs. 80 (plus taxes) for the first 100 channels and thereafter Rs. 20 (excluding taxes) for every slot of an additional 25 channels in the pack.

Here's a look at Airtel's Broadcaster Bouquet plans
If you're looking to create your base back, Airtel Digital TV offers pre-populated Broadcaster Bouquet plans.
Under these plans, you get access to all the channels which come under a broadcaster such as Discovery, Sony, Star, and others.
The prices for the Broadcaster Bouquet on Airtel Digital TV start at Rs. 0.59 per month and can go up to Rs. 171.1 per month.

Everything to know about Airtel's A-la-Carte channel packs
The A-la-Carte option, as the name suggests, lets you create a base pack by picking your favorite channels.
Under this option, you'll have the freedom to choose from a total of 563 channels, ranging across different languages and genres.
The prices of paid channels start from Rs. 0.1 per month and goes all the way up to Rs. 59 per month.

Under the category, Airtel has listed all the free-to-air channels available on its Digital TV platform. The company has divided these channels into two categories: Welcome North and Welcome South.
