After Airtel, now Reliance Jio is testing VoWi-Fi feature

Just days after Airtel launched its Wi-Fi Calling feature, arch rival Reliance Jio has started evaluating the feature in India.
According to Telecom Talk, the Mukesh Ambani-led telecom major is testing VoWi-Fi service in new regions. The feature allows users to make calls over a Wi-Fi network and is designed to improve voice calling experience for customers, especially when they are indoors.

Jio VoWi-Fi available in Nashik region
According to a screenshot shared by Twitter user @jayesh_mutha87, Reliance Jio's VoWi-Fi feature is available in the Nashik region of Maharashtra. The screenshot, which has been taken on a Face ID-enabled iPhone, shows "Jio WiFi" connection.
Meanwhile, another user claimed that the feature is also live in some other Tier II and Tier III cities and that it works with all ISPs.

In fact, just last week, Airtel launched its Wi-Fi Calling service in Delhi-NCR to become the first telco in the country to offer this feature.
According to the company, its VoWi-Fi service offers superior audio quality with minimal data consumption and at no extra charge.
It is available for select smartphones and can be easily configured on a compatible device without any additional app.

However, Airtel's service currently works with Xstream Fiber home broadband only
As of now, the service is compatible with Airtel's Xstream Fiber home broadband only. However, the company plans to roll out support for other broadband services and Wi-Fi hotspots. Moreover, Airtel plans to extend the service across India over the coming months.
