2019 Honda Civic launched in India at Rs. 17.7 lakh
Honda Motors India has launched its 10th generation Civic in India today. The flagship sedan comes at a starting price of Rs. 17.7 lakh and goes up to Rs. 22.3 lakh for the top-end model. The updated Honda Civic features sharp exteriors, revamped interiors, and comes in both diesel and petrol engine options. Here are the finer details.
Honda Civic: At a glance
The new Honda Civic, having a wheelbase of 2,700 mm, gets angular bumpers, chrome-grille, as well as LED headlamps and C-shaped taillights. The updated sedan also features electric sunroof, remote engine start, 18-inch alloy wheels and a fastback roofline that merges into the boot. The cabin comprises fabric upholstery, ivory leather seats, and a 7.0-inch infotainment panel with Android Auto and Apple-carplay'>Apple CarPlay support.
Under the hood
The Honda Civic is available in both diesel and petrol engine variants. The 1.8-liter petrol engine, with automatic transmission, churns out 139bhp of power and 174Nm of peak torque. The 1.6-liter turbo diesel engine, with 6-speed manual transmission, produces 118bhp of power and 300Nm of torque. Lastly, diesel engine variant offers claimed mileage of 26.8kmpl whereas the petrol model promises 16.5kmpl.
The new Civic also offers an improved safety package
In terms of safety, the 2019 Honda Civic gets 6 airbags and segment-first features such as electric parking brake, as well as lane watch camera assist. The car also comes equipped with seat belt reminder (front seats), LED daytime running lights and child-proof rear door locks. For better road handling, it gets ABS, EBD, Agile Handling Assist, and stability control.

The 2019 Honda Civic starts at Rs. 17.7 lakh for the base-end V (petrol) model. The mid-range VX and ZX models, with petrol engine option, are priced at Rs. 19.2 lakh and Rs. 21 lakh, respectively. The diesel model comes in only VX and ZX trims and they are priced at Rs. 20.5 lakh and Rs. 22.3 lakh, respectively.
