2019 Honda Civic to launch in India on March 7
Honda is all set to launch the next-generation of its premium sedan, the 2019 Civic, in India on Thursday. The base variant of the car is expected to be priced at Rs. 18 lakh in India (ex-showroom Delhi). The 10th generation sedan, which comes with two engine options, offers sharp exterior features and revamped interiors. Here are the finer details.
Honda Civic: At a glance
The new Honda Civic, having a wheelbase of 2,700 mm, gets angular bumpers, chrome-grille, as well as LED headlamps and taillights. The updated sedan also features electric sunroof, remote engine start, 18-inch alloy wheels and a fastback roofline that merges into the boot. The cabin comprises fabric upholstery, ivory leather seats, and a 6.9-inch infotainment panel with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support.
Under the hood
The Honda Civic will be available in two engine variants - 1.8-liter petrol engine with automatic transmission and 1.6-liter turbo diesel engine with 6-speed manual transmission. The diesel engine variant is touted to offer a mileage of 26.8kmpl whereas the petrol model promises 16.5kmpl.
The new model offers an improved safety package
In terms of safety, the 2019 Honda Civic gets 6 airbags, front 3-point seat belts with ATS (automatic transfer switch), electric parking brake, and automatic tensioning system. The car also comes equipped with seat belt reminder (front seats) and child-proof rear door locks. For better road handling, it comes with ABS, EBD, LED daytime running lights and brake assist.
Availability and booking details of 2019 Honda Civic
While the official pricing will be announced on March 7, reports suggest that the 2019 Civic will launch at a starting price of Rs. 18 lakh. Further, the bookings for this new model are open and you can place your order by paying a token amount of Rs. 31,000 at any Honda-authorized dealership. There is no option to book the car online.
