Hero's XPulse 200, XPulse 200T to launch on May 1
Hero MotoCorp is all set to launch its adventure motorcycle, the XPulse 200, in India on May 1. To recall, the bike was first revealed in 2017 at the EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan, Italy. Alongside XPulse 200, the company will also launch XPulse 200T, which is the touring variant of the hardcore XPulse, in the country. Here's our roundup.
At a glance
In terms of design, the XPulse 200 and 200T will come with an adventure-tourer body and sharp features. Both the motorcycles will have LED taillights and a digital console which will offer smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth. Further, the adventure bike will run on knobby Ceat tires whereas the touring model will have road-focused MRF radial tires.
Under the hood
The XPulse 200 and XPulse 200T will get the same 200cc single-cylinder engine from the Xtreme 200R which was launched last year. Hence, the upcoming bikes will be powered by a 199.6cc air-cooled 4-stroke single-cylinder engine that produces 18.3ps of maximum power and 17.1Nm of peak torque. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox.
Safety and control
The 2019 Hero XPulse motorcycles will get disc brakes on both wheels along with single channel ABS. The XPulse 200 model will provide off-road-oriented suspension comprising telescopic forks up front with 190mm of travel and a monoshock unit at the back with 170mm of travel. On the other hand, the 200T model will offer road-based suspension which will go along with its touring needs.
2019 XPulse Range expected to start at Rs. 1.05 lakh
Though Hero MotoCorp has not officially revealed the price of XPulse 200 and 200T, we can expect the former to arrive at Rs. 1.05 lakh and the latter to cost Rs. 1.15 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). In India, the XPulse 200 will go up against the Royal Enfield Himalayan which is available at Rs. 1.67 lakh (ex-showroom).
