2019 Ducati Scrambler launched in India, starts at Rs. 7.89L
Italian automaker Ducati has launched the 2019 Scrambler range in India at a starting price of Rs. 7.89 lakh. The motorcycle arrives in four variants- Icon, Cafe Racer, Desert Sled and Full Throttle. In terms of design, the latest Scrambler looks quite identical to the standard ongoing 1100 model. However, it comes with a host of updates and a better ride-ability. Here's our roundup.
2019 Ducati Scrambler: At a glance
In terms of looks, the 2019 Ducati Scrambler is quite identical to the ongoing model. However, it comes with LED daytime running lights inside the round headlamp, and a digital instrument console which features fuel gauge and gear indicator. Further, the motorcycle gets improved switchgear with a premium touch, lighter clutch assembly, and adjustable levers. It also offers revamped seats for a comfortable ride.
Engine and Mileage
The latest Ducati Scrambler is powered by a 803cc air-cooled desmodromic distribution L-twin engine which can produce 73.41ps of maximum power at 8,250rpm and 67Nm of peak torque at 5,750rpm. The motor comes mated with a 6-speed manual gearbox and offers a mileage of 20kmpl and a top speed of 193kmph.
On the road
For braking performance, the 2019 Ducati Scrambler offers disc brakes on both wheels, a tubular steel trellis frame as well as a cornering ABS (Anti-lock Braking System). Further, as a major update, it gets a softer suspension comprising fully-adjustable 41mm Kayaba inverted fork and double-sided swing-arm Kayaba rear shockers. According to the company, the suspension set-up brings a more pliant ride quality.
And, what is the pocket pinch
The bike comes in four variants. The base-end Icon variant costs Rs. 7.89 lakh while the mid-end Full Throttle and Desert Sled models cost Rs. 8.92 lakh and Rs. 9.93 lakh. The Cafe Racer variant comes at a price tag of Rs. 9.78 lakh (all prices ex-showroom India). Notably, the bookings for the Scrambler range are now open and deliveries would commence by May-end.
